Prom DJ · Huddersfield
Proms for schools and colleges across Huddersfield and Kirklees, run by a DJ who plays what the year group actually streams, keeps every edit clean, and has the paperwork ready for the school office. 4.9 rated.
I'm Musha, a mobile DJ based in Shelley just outside Huddersfield. Proms are a different job to any other party: the year group has waited five years for one night, the music has to be exactly what they're listening to right now, and the staff need someone reliable who makes their evening easier, not harder. That's the job, and I take it seriously.
A prom crowd knows every song, every word and every trend, and they can tell instantly if a DJ's record bag is two years out of date. My sets lean on the current chart, dance and R&B the students actually stream, mixed with the throwbacks that get the whole hall singing. And every track is the clean edit, all night, without being asked. The teachers relax, the students still get their songs, and nobody's explaining anything to a parent on Monday.
Whether it's a teacher, a PTA or a parent committee booking, the same things matter: a written quote for sign-off, paperwork before the event, early setup so the room is ready when the doors open, and a DJ who follows the agreed running order for entrances, awards and the last song. Tell me how the evening is structured and I'll build the music around it, and finish exactly on time.
Based in Shelley, I cover schools, colleges and prom venues across Huddersfield and Kirklees, plus Halifax, Dewsbury, Wakefield, Barnsley and the wider area. Hotel function suite, sports club, school hall or a marquee on the field, the rig scales to the room.
It depends on the date, the hours and the venue. Send me the details and I'll come back with a fixed quote within 24 hours, no obligation, and schools can have that in writing for sign-off.
Yes, radio edits only, all night, no exceptions. The students still get the songs they actually stream, just the versions that don't get anyone in trouble on Monday morning.
That's the best way to do it. Collect requests from the year group in advance, send them over, and I'll build the set around what they've picked, with do-not-plays respected too.
Yes. Public liability insurance and PAT test certificates are available for the school office or the venue before the event, just ask when booking.
