A DJ's guide to Sheffield party venues

Sheffield has one of the best spreads of party rooms in the north: restored warehouses, purpose-built party suites, big entertainment complexes and proper clubs. I'm a Huddersfield mobile DJ about forty minutes away, and my Sheffield bookings are mostly birthdays and work socials, so here's an honest run through the rooms and what to check before the deposit goes down.

The Hide

A restored industrial warehouse on Scotland Street with three spaces and a Citroen van for a bar, under new independent ownership since 2025. It hosts birthdays, private parties and corporate events, and it's exactly the kind of blank-canvas warehouse room where a proper DJ rig makes the night: big open space, big sound, your crowd and your music.

OEC Sheffield

The entertainment complex at Owlerton, next to the stadium and casino. The Rivelin Suite takes up to 500 and splits into three smaller rooms, with VIP boxes from 20 to 80, and it runs everything from corporate dos to big birthdays and Christmas parties. For a work social with a serious guest list, this is the scale option.

Stars and Mayfair Party Suites

A dedicated party venue on Queens Road near the station with two suites covering 50 to 400 guests. It does one thing and does it properly: parties. Easy for guests coming by train, and the rooms are built around a dance floor rather than working against one.

Kenwood Hall Hotel

The Mercure's period hotel at Kenwood, a mile from the centre, with nine function rooms including the Lakeview at up to 200 for dinner. It covers the smarter end: milestone birthdays, engagement parties and corporate evenings where you want a hotel finish to the night.

The clubs: Sheffield Transport and Jubilee

Sheffield Transport Sports Club has a function room and lounge each taking up to 125, with a licensed bar and a family-run feel, though it leans family-friendly so check they're relaxed about a louder 18th or 21st before booking one there. Jubilee Sports and Social Club at Hillsborough seats 60 and opens up past 80 for an evening disco. Club rooms like these are some of the best value party spaces in the city.

The Garrison Hotel

The historic hotel off Penistone Road with a function room for private parties and celebrations, and it's a licensed wedding venue too. Character venue, sensible size, rooms upstairs for anyone making a night of it.

Questions to ask any Sheffield venue

Sheffield party FAQs

Do you DJ parties in Sheffield?

Yes, Sheffield is about forty minutes from me and I cover it alongside Barnsley, Rotherham and Doncaster. Birthdays, engagements and work socials are the usual bookings. Travel is built into the quote.

How much does a party DJ cost in Sheffield?

It depends on the date, the hours and the venue. Send me what you are planning and I will come back with a fixed, no-obligation quote within 24 hours.

Can you DJ a corporate social or work do in Sheffield?

Yes, work socials and corporate parties are a regular booking, warehouse venues included. Professional setup, a written quote for sign-off, and a set that gets a mixed-age office on the floor together.

What should we check before booking a Sheffield party room?

Four things: whether you can bring your own DJ, the sound limiter and curfew, where the DJ sets up relative to the dance floor, and what the load-in is like. I check all of it with the venue in advance.
