Finding a room for an 18th around Huddersfield is trickier than it should be, because some venues quietly don't take them. As a DJ I spend most weekends in the function rooms that do, so here's where to look, what each type of room is like for a party, and the questions to ask before you pay a deposit. Stadium suites come with the practical stuff mostly sorted: parking, access and staff used to events. Ask which entrance guests use on the night, where the DJ sets up relative to the bar, and what the music cut-off is.

A hotel function suite is the low-stress choice for a mixed family and mates crowd. Ask which of the three rooms fits your numbers, how late the private bar runs, and whether there's a minimum spend on top of room hire.

Cricket, bowling and social clubs across Huddersfield hire their function rooms for parties, and village halls around Holmfirth, Kirkburton and Denby Dale cover the bring-your-own end of things where the room costs less and the DJ makes the night.
